Important Principles to build an Organization

Important Principles to build an Organization

Considering the concepts studied in the reading this week on managing talent (Rae and Wong, Chapter 7, “Ethics and the Management of Talent”) and reading response assignments in previous weeks and in the material presented in the classroom, summarize key principles that you think are important in building flourishing organizations.

Give examples from the course material and relate them to an example or examples you have experienced in the organizations in which you have worked. The body of your reading response should be 2-3 pages in length in APA format (excluding references, title page, and notes). You may use other references to support your conclusions and arguments.

***** I have extra course materials if you’d like to have a look before doing this document. Attached are previous weeks reading responses.

https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_why_good_lea…Leadership is a broad term defined as someone responsible to get something done using the best practices available. There are terms like leaders and bosses. Being a leader is more like getting things done by helping the employees working under you to grow. Being a boss is more like getting things done in an authoritarian way or by using some kind of threat. Finding a leader with ethics is the best employee in a company’s point of view. There are multiple leadership models which help in determining what works best for whom. Two models of leaderships were defined by Lawrence Kohlberg and Arthur Holmes .Lawrence model is a linear model of defining a leader. It has three stages in which a leader can be identified. Stage one is based on obedience which depend on the consequences. Another part of the stage one is based on self interest and the pleasure. Moving to stage two, it is based on seeking approval and respect or fear out of law and order. The last stage is based on being universally ethical. Other model of leadership is defined by Arthur Holmes which also has three stages. Stage one is conscience which is knowing what is good around you. Second stage is decision making where a strong stand needs to be taken when ever necessary even for great leaders. The last stage is character which is developed knowing how, when and what to do which can be gained by own experience or by the experience of others. Not everything in ethics can be taught.

I shared all the information i have for your reference. Reading responses are the main key and we can always refer other sources over the internet. The outcome of this reading response should be the summary of key principles that we think are important in building flourishing organizations.
