This assignment asks you to COMPARE & CONTRAST contemporary masculinity as it is portrayed in the documentary film Tough Guise 2: Violence, Media and the Crisis in Masculinity with masculinity as it is portrayed in Reading 55: Adolescent Masculinity in an Age of Decreased Homohysteria. At a minimum, address the issues of homophobia versus “homohysteria”, differences in attitudes towards violence and the physical expression of affection between the young British men in the article and the young American men portrayed in Tough Guise 2.
