Texas lives up to its motto of Everything is Bigger in Texas when it comes to Politics.  Texas has been the home to three presidents, has a large representation in Congress, and Senators that make the nightly News.  On the State level, Texas as a world energy leader plays a large role in international geopolitics.  Furthermore, the purchasing power of the State of Texas economically influences many states.  For example, when Texas sets Textbook rules for K-12 it often influences publishers to make books that fit Texas, and other smaller states adopt.  While Nationally Texas is seen as a Red State, locally it is much more diverse than what is seen on the aggregate.  Think of Statemen and women like Barbra B Jordan, LBJ, and Beto.  On the Republican side, the Bush family is like the Kennedys of Texas.  Write a reflection about the politics of Texas.  Do you see Texas as a Red State?  What do you think about the national democrats’ dream of flipping Texas?  Is Texas Purple?  What is unique about Texas Politics?
