Felice is a 25-year-old, African-American female. She comes to a local mental health clinic for support. She reports that she is feeling very overwhelmed, tearful, and sad. She has recently lost her job, and she is 4 months pregnant. She does not use drugs or alcohol, she has no criminal history, and she has a supportive family. She has a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry but the job market in her area is very difficult. Felice also reports that she has a history of depression as an adolescent and once, that required psychiatric hospitalization. Felice does not currently have thoughts of harming herself or others. Felice is invested in wanting to “feel better soon, especially for the baby.”
