The proposed topic of my study is “Servant leadership and organizational citizenship: perceived leader effectiveness and exchange ideology in one health care organization in Arizona.” The variables include servant leadership and follower engagement in OCB activities. I have chosen to pursue this topic by utilizing a qualitative method. A case study design seems reasonable to me given the subject matter and my preferences for the method used to pursue this study. This will give rise to the research questions and data collection instrument to be used. I am actively using multiple databases for data collection so one of the instruments being used are key word searches in multiple databases. In addition, I have identified the nine dimensions Liden (2008) outlines in his multidimensional measure and multi-level assessment as an instrument to be used to gather data for my study. I believe these instruments will gather the appropriate data to answer the research questions and address the problem because they are tried and tested ways of doing so.
