Select one artwork from one of the museums listed below or another you plan to visit. The artwork should fall within the period we cover in this class: Ancient through Medieval (ca. 1300). Understandably, there are few artworks from this period in Oklahoma museums. Look online in advance and/or call the museum.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze carefully an actual work of art (and to visit a museum). About half of your paper will be research and about half visual analysis and an opportunity for you to apply what you have learned in this course to a new work of art. You should use your own observations for this informed analysis, but not "personal feelings". Please keep your admission receipt or sticker or some other proof that you actually visited the museum. Provide a photograph of the art work (IF the museum allows photography) or another form of reproduction (from the web or a book).
