Writing Assignment Description:
For this assignment, write a proposal that formulates a problem and offers a solution. Think of an existing situation that calls for attention, whether it is on campus or at the local, national, or international level. Something may be wrong that needs to be changed. Something may be lacking that needs to be added. Something worthwhile may not be working properly and therefore needs to be improved. Or it may be that a situation needs to be redefined in order to find new approaches and solutions. During class, we will carefully review the “Writing Assignment” section (332-342) of chapter 10 to further our understanding of how to write a proposal.

Writers Workshop (2%): Thursday April 24, in-class
Paper Due (15%): Tuesday, April 29 on VSpace by midnight

Length: 4-full pages (not including works cited page), double-spaced
Sources: 4 sources (1 website, 1 news report, 2 freebies)
Images: 2 appropriate images that add something to your reader’s understanding of your proposal (even though you will cite images, these do not count as your sources)
Document design: 12 pt. Times New Roman or Calibri font; 1” margins; Word document, RTF, or Open Office only
