Learning Goal: I’m working on a writing project and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Please submit your Genogram on your family.

1. Must include all member from YOUR grandparents down. (Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, children, grandchildren, etc.)

2. Must identify yourself in a special way. When I review your genogram I want to be able to locate you with ease.

3. Must include first name and identifying years ( birth, death, marriages, separation, divorce, abortion, etc.)

4. Must include tracking of family dynamics. (closeness, hostility, distance, cut-off, etc.)

5. Must include mental health issues and alcohol/drug issues.

6. You may use a computer program (Word, Publisher or another software) to draw your genogram. You are allowed to hand draw it – if you decide to hand draw it should be VERY NEAT.

7. Must include a key.

8. You must submit as a word, pdf or jpg.

There are resources located under the Resources Module for your review. There are numerous resources available online in regards to genograms – do some research. Completing a genogram can be a great time to learn about your family and grasp an understanding of certain dynamics within your family.
