1. Multiple media in advertising is all about bringing into play different media channels to market a product or service. Every advertisement is meant to reach a specific group of people and using multiple media gives an organization the ability to reach as many of such people as possible. It is, however, important to research before making a decision on the media channels to be integrated. This is because there are dynamics in advertising such as age, religion, race, language, literacy levels and social classes all of which directly influence the media channels accessible and acceptable to the target audience. Using multiple media to reach the target audience makes an advert to stand out as it is everywhere. Multiple media makes it difficult for the target audience to miss an advert and when this is achieved, the target audience becomes potential customers or clients. Whereas some target audience process an advert visually, some do so by hearing while others find it audiovisual effective. For me, chances of being exposed to an advert would be 40% for outdoor, 30% for television, 10% for radio, 10% for newspapers and 10% for magazines. Exposure to an advert does not, however, guarantee a reaction from the target audience. In as much as I am mostly exposed to outdoor adverts, I pay much attention to television adverts because I watch a lot of television programs and therefore find them effective.
2. The probability that I would be exposed to an advertisement on television would be 20%. I do not have cable in my apartment because I mostly watch Netflix or Hulu. Hulu does have advertisements but since I do not use it that often I do not see very many ads.
The probability that I would be exposed to advertisements on the radio would be 30%. I listen to apps likes Spotify sometimes and since I do not pay for premium I hear advertisements quite a bit.
The probability that I would be exposed to advertisements in magazines and newspapers would be 0%. I do not read either of those so I am not exposed to any ads from them.
The probability that I would be exposed to advertisements outdoors would be 50%. I walk mostly everywhere I go so I would say that I am outside a lot. Very often I see stickers on the poles of traffic lights for someone’s business or I will see huge billboards for new movies coming out.
The media that is most effective in reaching me is social media. I use some forms of social media more than I watch TV or read a magazine, and on social media we have the option to click on the advertisement and get redirected to their page. On their page we can see more about what they are about and the products or services they offer. If we like what we see we can click their link to go to their website which is really easy and convenient. Personally, I see a lot of ads that interest me. A lot of the time, I click on the business’s page to look some more and maybe even to buy something.
