Please describe the process you plan to use to conduct research, identify findings, and develop the Comprehensive Project due in Unit 5 and present a preliminary outline indicating how you intend to organize the project deliverable.

I am planning to use the internet and library resources to gather information about the three CEO’s I have selected. I will focus on their influence process, strengths and weaknesses. I will organize my findings in a cluster. My preliminary outline consists of the abstract which will provide an overview of the project deliverable. I will then provide introduction to the first CEO’s influence process, introduction to the second CEO, followed by introduction to the third CEO. Then I will compare their strengths and weaknesses and conclude with key traits that made them successful.

3.What is the role of relationship development and management in effective leadership, and how are these concepts used in improving leadership effectiveness?

Leadership can take many forms and shapes, but the one thing that most effective leaders have in common is that they know how to build and manage relationships. Whether with partners, consultants or subordinates, leaders cannot lead effectively unless they understand the people they lead (Schaefer, 2015). In my opinion, a manager will become a better leader by getting to know their employees and building relationships within the team.When done correctly, this will allow the leader to better understand individual strengths and weaknesses within the team and what motivates them. Most importantly, the team will be able to see that the manager cares about them as individuals and appreciates their unique value. As a result, the team will feel a greater sense of loyalty towards the manager, and will be more likely to increase their performance.

4.When and why should participation be used to improve leadership effectiveness?

To be effective as a leader, it’s important to know your team and adapt your leadership style to every situation. Participation invites input from employees and should be used when you want the team to feel part of the final decision or outcome. For example, implementing a new policy or marketing strategy. The leader can provide the team the objectives, and allow them to brainstorm and come up with ideas and ways to meet the objectives. The advantages of this type of leadership include higher level of acceptance of the final decision, increased morale, creativity and retention because employees feel that their voice is heard and appreciate the chance to be part of the company decision-making process (Root III, 2018).
