Purpose: The purpose of this Exam/Power Point Project is to for a student to be able to:

Describe strengths and weaknesses of their current diet;

Describe positive behavior changes that they can make to improve their diet using relevant research to do so;

Analyze how a chronic disease related to their ethnicity could be a result of an unhealthy diet;

Examine how one of the following personal health risk factor such as age, genetics, lifestyle choices, environmental influences, income and education could impact the quality of their life now and in the future;

Examine how a person’s economic status and where they live affects their access to healthy foods;

Describe the current U.S. food model and its strengths and weaknesses;

Describe another country’s food model and its strengths and weaknesses;

Identify which food model appeals to you the most and explain how your choice will influence your wellness potential;

Identify factors of human diversity that influence both yours and another person that you know, wellness potential and explain why.

Directions: The Exam/Power Point Project on nutrition is worth 100 points. The format requirements for this exam/ power point project is as follows:

*Font size for each title is to be set at 36 and using another font size = -5 points;

* All slide text: font size is to be set at 20 and using another font size = – 5 points;

* All references in the body of the paper are to be set at a font size of 14 and using another font size = – 5 points;

*Students must use four or more scientific references in this project and failure to use a minimum of 4 references will result in a deduction of 10 points per missing reference.

*The text book for this course can be used only one time as a reference in the project. Do not use class notes or worksheets.= – 10 pts. if the text book for this course is used more than once.

*If there are no scientific references used in the project, the highest grade that can be earned is 20 points.

* DO NOT use a solid white background for the project. Select a background for the project. Failure to do so = – 15 pts.
