Classmate 1 – Epilepsy Disorder
Epilepsy is a common movement disorder, a neurological disorder that causes seizures because of abnormal brain activities. Like any other movement disorder, Epilepsy is also characterized b a common neurological disturbance, mostly in pediatric neurology. It is the most common reason some patients get referred to pediatric neurology clinics. A childhood movement disorder appears differently in children based on the etiology, timing, treatment, and prognosis of adult movement-related abnormalities.
Epilepsy disorder is characterized by impaired voluntary movements, the presence of involuntary movements, or both. They are sensitive disorder that keeps changing their severity and distribution over time (Mula, 2015). As a result, individuals involved, most children find it challenging to perform skilled motor plans. The resulting outcomes would be physical or social disturbances.
It is important to note that Epilepsy is not the primary source of philosophical problems; however, the two can happen simultaneously, and they can also be a result of the exact causes. It can be low oxygen, an injury, or possibly an infection at birth that ends up causing mental retardation or Epilepsy.
The philosophical issues caused by Epilepsy include; Epilepsy is beginning at an early age, experiencing many seizures, and experiencing an underlying brain lesion, among others.
People with severe intellectual issues experience high rates of brain abnormality that causes seizures.
Some of the common was that can be used to handle or treat epilepsy disorder include the following;
Use of the anti-epileptic medicines
Surgery to remove the small section of the brain leading to seizures
Use of electrical devices inside a body that helps in controlling seizures
Using a Ketogenic diet to control seizures
However, one might not need any of these treatments if one understands what triggers seizures. The only possible way here would be to avoid any potential factors triggering seizure. Epilepsy can also be handled by taking the AEDs or Anti-epileptics drugs and deep brain stimulation, among others.

Classmate 2 – Huntington's Disease
Huntington's disease results in the gradual degeneration of brain nerve cells. It has no cure and typically affects a person's physical and mental capacities during their birth years. A brain condition known as Huntington's disease is inherited from parent to child within families. It results from an error in the DNA instructions that create and maintain our bodies. There are millions of genes in DNA, and one gene called huntingtin has a tiny mistake in HD patients. This mistake damages the brain over time and results in HD symptoms. My interest in choosing this particular disease because learning more about a rare disease would help me be able to understand it more. My goals for the handout was to provide more explanation of this disease and how it affects your brain.
