Each student will be responsible for presenting on the following topics: History and Mission Scope of Services The Organization’s Role in the
Learning Goal: I’m working on a writing presentation and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Each student will complete an organizational analysis on the agency in which they will complete their practicum hours. If you do not yet have confirmation of the agency you will be with, reach out to me ASAP for further instructions as we are in week 9 and you should have secured a placement by now! Within this assignment, each student will explore the organization as a whole (history, mission, role within the community, and clients served) and their upcoming role in the organization.
Each student will be responsible for presenting on the following topics:
- History and Mission
- Scope of Services
- The Organization’s Role in the Community
- General Overview of Clients/Consumers of Services
- General Overview of the Needs of Clients/Consumers Served
- Primary Referral Streams
- Funding Sources (and Estimated Budget(s) when applicable)
- Primary Laws and/or Public Policies Linked to and/or Impacting the Organization
- SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) Analysis
- Identify any unmet agency needs and discuss an appropriate response to those unmet needs
- MSW Employment Requirements and Opportunities
- Organization and Key Leadership Points of Contact
Organization Analysis will be evaluated on the following: The degree to which all elements are incorporated into the project; the evidence of preparation and effort exhibited; the relevance of the material to those in the community and the agency; professionalism demonstrated during the presentation; organization and clarity of presentation. Students must develop a PowerPoint presentation to facilitate the presentation and discussion of the organization being analyzed. The PP submission must include a voice overlay.
If you have Windows 10, here is a video to show you how to use an app that is already installed on your computer.
If you don’t have Windows 10, I recommend downloading Active Presenter from the internet…it’s free. There are multiple tutorials on YouTube on how to use this and other applications.
You can also videotape yourself presenting your PP on a screen (must be large enough that I can read it (i.e. TV or projector screen). Remember you are practicing for agency presentations someday. Therefore, the presentation in its entirety should be no more than 10 minutes.
