Curate a dream exhibition of no less than seven and no more than ten artworks. Your exhibition must have some conceptual framework. What is the theme or overarching idea behind the exhibition? Why did you select each work for this show? At least 3 of the works included in the exhibition should have been covered in class or in assigned texts. Others can be artworks you found through additional research. They can also come from a time beyond the bounds of this course.
The final deliverable will include the following:

A Curatorial Statement. Explain the title and theme or conceptual framework of your exhibition. Explain how the title relates to the theme/conceptual framework and cite specific artworks included to exemplify the theme. (2-4 pages)
Museum Labels. Your museum label should contain a high-quality image as well as a description of the work. Include the title, artist name, medium, date, dimensions and any historical information. The label should provide additional context and an in-depth explanation of how the artwork connects to the exhibit theme. In Module 1, there is an example of an actual museum label, and a template is provided for additional guidance.
Exhibition Review. Write a concise review of your exhibition as if you are a critic visiting the show. What further insight can you add to the exhibition? Refer to and describe two different works that are included in the exhibition. (3-4 paragraphs)
Bibliography. External sources must be cited.

you are pretending that you are a curator of an exhibition at a museum. It is your job to create an exhibition (organized around a specific theme) consisting of 7 – 10 artworks.

Your curatorial statement will be a paper explaining your rationale behind your selection of the artworks, and exploring the theme(s) of your show, in depth. Your curatorial statement should show an understanding of the content of this course.

Your museum labels are in-depth exploration of each artwork. (You will have 7 – 10 labels, depending on how many artworks you include in the show.) Your labels should connect the artworks on view with the curatorial theme. You may go in depth into artist biography, context the artwork was created in, physical description, history of the work, art movement the piece was a part of, history, symbolism etc. The museum label should also show mastery of course content. Each label should be unique. (As each artwork is unique.) They should not include redundant information. You should follow this template when you are writing your museum labels. Your labels should include an image of the artwork at the top.

Finally, you will write a review of the show as if you are a critic, viewing the show. What did your show do successfully? What did you learn as a viewer?

(Remember to use internal citations as well as include a bibliography!)
