In Paper 3, you will synthesize your career assessment results and research three selected occupations. To complete this assignment, you must first take the PGI assessment at https://pgi.asu.edu.
Create a profile, choose to take the LONG version, and save your ID number in a secure place

Select 3 occupations from your assessment results. Specifically, choose:
An (1) occupation from the list of top ten occupations recommended
An (1) occupation from the list of recommended occupations you deem as “the best fit”
Your occupation of choice (1)
Discuss why those careers may have been at the top of your occupation results. If your occupation of choice did not appear in the results, discuss why the occupation may not have been recommended.
Simply stating that an occupation is not your style or that you do not know why the occupation was or was not recommended is not sufficient.
You may wish to refer back to notes on the PGI interpretation to discuss your score profile, the graphing results, whether you had a discrepancy between interests and abilities, etc. This can be challenging; start early and arrange to meet with your instructor to discuss if needed.
For each occupation chosen, respond to all of the following prompts using information from the O*Net (www.onetonline.org), ASU resources (e.g., http://asu.edu/majormaps), and other reliable sources:
List the 2-3 primary work tasks associated with the particular occupation.
What are the different college majors, qualifications, and/or experiences that people have upon entering the field? (e.g., it is not just business majors who enter the field of business!)
What are the specific requirements to transfer into an ASU major appropriate for the occupation?
What campus/college student organizations are connected to the major/occupation path?
Name any unions/professional organizations (local/national/international) for the occupation.
Discuss the potential salary range and the projected employment outlook for this occupation.
What are the significant limitations and major benefits of the occupation?
Discuss how your current major would fit/not fit with this occupation.
End your paper with a conclusion paragraph noting your “take-away” from this exploration process. What did you learn about yourself? What will you do with this information now that you have it? (Use critical thinking skills here!)
As per usual, your assignment must be in essay format, follow APA style, and use 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, and double-spacing. Papers need to be a minimum of 3 pages long, but no longer than 5 pages (not including the title page and reference page), written with the guidelines for all papers outlined in the syllabus and with proper citations.
