Independent Learning Requirement (ILR)

  • Attend or watch an energy-related seminar, podcast, TED-talk, or program.
    You could also read an energy-related article. Any one of these will be
    referred to a “program” below.
  • Take notes as-needed to provide a summary of the program.
    What to Submit for Full Credit:
    1-page summary and assessment.
  1. Provide the title of the event, speaker name or author, location or web link,
    date, and time for full credit (i.e., if I wanted to find the program, what would I
    need?).
  2. Provide a 1-2 paragraph summary of the program. For example: What was it
    about? What were the conclusions? Etc.
  3. Provide a 1-2 paragraph assessment of the program. For example: If a stand
    was taken, do you agree or disagree with it and why? Are the conclusions
    reasonable and justified based on the provided information? Would you do
    anything differently, and if so, why? Etc.
