For this assignment, you will locate a news piece that describes a psychological study for broader evidence (e.g. CNN, FOX, NPR, Buzzfeed, Facebook). You will then locate the actual study in a peer reviewed journal and write a short paper comparing the media and scientific articles. The papers should not exceed more than five pages double spaced (it’s ok if you have more pages due to references, but keep the content between 3 and 5 pages), and must use APA formatting (including in-text citations and references!). I would recommend just searching for sources using Google Scholar.
Please discuss the main points of the article you chose, and report on whether evidence from the article supports or contradicts the common media claim found through your selected news source. Finally, describe a possible issue or red flag in the research design of the article you chose, and describe what could be done differently to improve it. You should include a full APA (American Psychological Association) style citation for the article you choose (for instructions, look here: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_g uide/general_format.html). APA style is very picky (annoying), but if you just follow along with the example citation you should be good. For full credit, upload a copy of the article you chose and a word doc with your discussion and the citation, as well as any necessary in-text citations and a reference page. P. S.
