Directions: Download the SC2 Peer Review sheet  Download SC2 Peer Review sheet. Make a copy. Add the student author’s name to the title (e.g., “John Doe SC2 Peer Review”). Do this for both of your peers. Fill out the peer review sheets. Attach the files to their comment box. See the video below for more details.

Each question must be answered thoroughly to receive full credit. 

Questions:

  1. In the first paragraph, does the writer clearly state which group they are investigating and
    what connections they have with it? If so, what is it and what connections? If not, what
    could they add?
  2. In the second paragraph, do they explore their assumptions about this community and/or
    commonly held assumptions (by others) about this community? What do you (the
    reviewer) know about the group and think they should add?
  3. For the third paragraph, does the author discuss how they see their research in and about
    this community as connected o wider issues, themes, or ideas in society? If so, how do
    they do this? If not, what would you suggest?
  4. In the fourth paragraph, does the author propose a primary-data research plan? Do they
    discuss where and when they will observe or interview the group for field research? Do
    they address whether or not they will participate in social interaction with the group?
    What else might they consider that isn’t listed?

SC2 Peer Review

  1. In the fifth paragraph, does the writer address their approach to meeting each of the LC2
    research requirements (2 online academic sources, 1 online source, field research, and
    image)? If so, do they clearly show which types they will use? If not, ask them to clarify.
  2. In the sixth and final paragraph, does the writer clearly state why their research should
    matter to the rest of us? If not, encourage them to include information about this
    ethnography can help us see, experience or understand.
  3. Does the writer use proper MLA format? Consider citations (if any), margins, headers,
    spacing, and font size. What should be adjusted?
  4. Is the proposal 500 – 700 words? Does it include a word count at the end? Does it include
    a working title that relates to their group? If not, what would you suggest?
  5. Is the proposal free of grammatical errors? Are there any recurring problems?
  6. Overall, does the proposal offer a thoughtful, informed, error-free explanation of a
    detailed and organized plan for completing their LC? What areas could use
    improvement?
