How would help this student select an appropriate topic to write about, keeping in mind the age of the student, his/her interest, his/her cognitive and intellectual levels, and his/her academic level? 2) Who would most likely benefit from functional math instead of advance math? Think of a student with a particular disability and justify why this student would be better off learning basic math skills. What should your functional skills curriculum include? Justify the need to include every one of the math skills in this curriculum. (2 points)
3) Most students with disabilities attribute their problems to their disability, and blame their failures on others. How would help your students feel better about themselves and believe in their abilities? How would you raise their self-esteem? What strategies would you use in the classroom to increase their motivation and positive affect? How would you involve the parents and the other students in the class in this process? (3 points)
